| The hiking group meets every 2 -4 weeks during the spring and fall. We are led by our resident historian and ornithologist, Bernie Reddy, who makes certain the hikes are educational as well as fun. A typical distance is plus or minus 3 miles with frequent stops and sometimes options to lengthen or shorten the hike as one wishes. About 2 weeks prior, I email the group informing them of the location, distance and degree of difficulty so members can decide if they want to participate. If the hike is not in Lexington or nearby, we meet to carpool and sometimes include a stop for lunch on the way home.
